Dogs and Wheels Workshop!
We are pleased to announce our Dogs and Wheels Workshop! This class will be an introduction to desensitization for dogs who have a history of barking/lunging at bikes, skaters, scooters- anything that rolls!

Additionally this class will be an opportunity for those who want to go skating/biking etc WITH their dogs to start the foundational behaviors on how to do that safely, while having fun. Exercising your dog with these high energy activities is GREAT for the opportunity to have your dog run- but in a structured and focused way. Plus, it’s another really fun way to work WITH your dog.

Before you come to class!
The prerequisite for joining our class is our private 1:1 training and approval from the BFTD training team that you are ready for the next level. If you have not previously set up a training session with us, please email us at [email protected] to do so.

When is it offered?
The Dogs and Wheels Class will be offered on Sunday, May 19th from 10:30-12:30. This event will be listed on our main Facebook page, our PunchPass schedule as well as listed in our private Boston for the Dogs Family group!  Sign ups are first come, first serve and we have a maximum of 15 participants.

What should I bring?
  • IF you have a bike, skates, or other wheeled equipment that you want to use- please feel free to bring it to this class- but we will also have some sample things to play around with.
  • Treats! Lots and lots of treats :)  Or bring BREAKFAST!
    • Make a "treat trail mix" to help keep your dog engaged in food work.
  • A 3 to 6-foot leash. Please note that retractable (“flexi”)  leashes are not allowed. Slip leads are allowed ONLY if you are working with a BFTD trainer and that is the recommended tool.
  • A martingale (preferred) or a training collar. Please see note on gear, below.
  • Water and a bowl for your dog.
  • If you have a Starmark or Prong collar for your dog, please bring it. We’ll help you fit it!
  • Poops bags, but please do not put a bag holder on your leash, we will be doing exercises where they may get in the way or fall off.
